From the veranda of the ranch-style clubhouse, the championship course seems to have been there forever - not just since 1993. And that's a testament to designer Arthur Hills' subtle style. With plenty of cactus, native oak and Texas wildflowers, the course blends in naturally with its surroundings. Three par 4's are less than 340 yards - a reprieve from the three that are over 445. A huge double green serves both the 9th and 18th holes. Located across the street from SeaWorld® San Antonio, this is an authentic Texas Hill Country golf experience. Just keep the ball in the fairway or you'll see more of the countryside than you bargained for.

Four more miles through rolling ranch country leads you to a golfer's paradise. The 200-room resort has maintained a "Texas Top Ten" ranking since 1992, and offers 27 championship holes in a very secluded Hill Country setting that reaches elevations up to 1,900 feet. Three courses - The Ridge, The Lakes and The Valley - all offer different challenges. The resort also offers plenty of activities off the greens, with horseback riding, swimming, fishing and tennis just some of the reasons to extend your stay.

This exceptionally beautiful course, designed by golf legend Arnold Palmer and open since March 2001, plays out over 225 acres set on 370 acres of rugged, natural terrain. The course includes three signature holes, including the par 3 No. 4 hole, where golfers encounter dramatic waterfalls along the entire front of the green. Golfers will need a long carry over a lake to make the green. No. 4 also includes a poignant tribute to Palmer's late wife, the Winnie Palmer Memorial Bridge over part of the lake. The bridge bears a special message written by Palmer himself. The course's front nine has one challenging par 5, while the back nine includes two par 5's. All 18 holes provide magnificent play amid dramatic topography and scenery.

Carved from the walls of a limestone quarry and nestled amid the live oak trees, streams and wildlife of the Texas Hill Country, The Resort Course at La Cantera is a visual stunner. The thrills include a tee shot from atop an 80-foot quarry wall where you take dead aim at the Six Flags¨ Fiesta Texas¨ roller coaster, "The Rattler." But don't be fooled by the dramatic scenery - this beauty can be a beast. Elevated tees help the shorter hitter, but accurate second shots are a must. The Resort Course at La Cantera is one of the last courses designed by the renowned team of Jay Morrish and Tom Weiskopf. And as proof of their success, the course has been the host of the PGA Tour's Texas Open at La Cantera since 1995.
